The Bahaffer Guest House

Bahaffer Guest House

The sitting areaCOMPLETELY REMODELED    An old house built in the early 1900's was remodeled into a more modern facility to provide comfortable accommodations for our guests, whether it be overnight, weekend or for several days. We have tried to incorporate the newer conveniences while keeping the charm and uniqueness of the original structure. An antique piece of leaded glass has been placed in the new front door to add a warm glow to the living room. The hardwood floors have been restored to their original natural beauty. New electrical and plumbing systems have been installed and the air-conditioning and heating system has been updated for the comfort of our guests.

 Feel right at home!KITCHEN FACILITIES

The kitchen contains a coffeemaker, toaster, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher with all the necessary dishes and utensils for breakfast to start your day on a positive note. The fixings for the continental breakfast will consist of fresh fruit, juice, coffee, tea, dry cereals and bread or muffins.

 CONVENIENT

The Bahaffer House is only a short walk from downtown, less than one block, where there are several interesting business establishments that you will enjoy as you make a tour of the courthouse square

 SIGHTSEEING

The Chamber of Commerce has several brochures which detail the many interesting places that can be seen in and around Mason. Their office is located on the north side of the square and they will be happy to provide any information that you might need.

 HOW IT WAS NAMED

When our children were growing up the house was owned by Mrs. Ida Mae Vandivere. Our daughter loved to go next door to see her but she couldn't pronounce "Vandivere" so she called her "Bahaffer". When we were choosing a name Jean had the idea of calling it The Bahaffer House in memory of Mrs. Vandivere.
