The Kruse Home & This "Old House"

The Kruse Home This "Old House"

The Kruse Ranch, located on Kruse Road, seven miles north of Mason on Highway 87, promises a quiet country atmosphere away from city life.

Operated for over one hundred continuous years under Kruse family management, visitors are offered some 500 acres of solitude where they will enjoy the beauty of hiking part of the beautiful Mason Mountains. There are two houses available. Accommodations are for a minimum of two days.  Here, you will be able to unwind, sit back, and enjoy solitude, a beautiful night sky, and choices of doing nothing but relaxing or engaging in a variety of activities at your leisure.

If guests wish, they are invited to bring their own horses and feed and pen them by the Kruse Home, and instead of hiking, ride their favorite horses as they explore the ranch.

Three tanks are stocked with fish which may be caught (and released).

This "Old House" is a unique four-room house which has recently been restored and decorated and offers rustic comfort. This house was built in the early 1900's and was a single-walled structure. The only way of keeping out the winter cold was the wallpaper which adorned the walls. A wood stove offered heat, an no in-bathroom facilities were available. In its present restoration, all the comforts of home now are available. Sitting on the front porch in the mornings or evenings will bring one to appreciate the surrounding animals, fields, mountains and nature that are present. The uniqueness of this cabin offers a bunkroom which houses four bunk beds and a living room which has a couch that folds out. Kitchen facilities, living room, screened back porch, front porch, and of course, bathroom facilities exist. Air conditioning/heating are now present.

The modern kitchen is a far cry from what once graced this lovely old ranch house in earlier times.

The Kruse Home has three bedrooms, one of which has a double sized bed, another contains three beds, as well as one which is a smaller room with two beds. The home has a living room with fireplace, dining room, kitchen/breakfast area, and bathroom. The front porch offers an area to sit and watch the world go by.

Both houses have kitchens with all necessary means of survival.

Payment for the first night should be mailed immediately to assure reservation. Balance of rent is due upon arrival.
